Disability and civil protection: the new website www.abiliaproteggere.net now online

The web project is created by the Cooperative Europe Consulting and the Department of Civil Protection

The website www.abiliaproteggere.net is now online, in a completely new version. The site presents the activities that the Department and the Social Cooperative Europe Consulting carry out to keep the attention focused on planning, assisting and providing relief to people with disabilities – on an everyday basis and during emergency - and to promote prevention interventions within this area

The Department has signed into an agreement with the Cooperative to deepen the relationship between disability and civil protection and propose new approaches, activities and ideas on this issue.

A working group of disabled workers belonging to the Cooperative, in close collaboration with the staff of the Department, will carry out the activities provided for by the Convention.

The collaboration between the Department and the Europe Consulting aims to promote the integration of knowledge: on the one hand the knowledge of experienced operators of civil protection, therefore carriers of a form of working knowledge on prevention and management of emergencies, on the other, operators with specific disabilities, with a particular form of knowledge, defined in the literature "knowledge through sensitivity," which comes from firsthand experience the needs related to the specific condition that they live every day.

Abiliaproteggere.net is the container of the experience of employment of the working group called "Unity interface with the world of disability", but not only.

The site www.abiliaproteggere.net also arises as an observatory of the experiences made by voluntary associations, trade associations, regions, local authorities and other boards, which have the aim of combining the needs of people with disabilities in the activities of civil protection.

The intent is to collect and bring together in one place all the good practices and experiences on the issue, thanks to the work of daily monitoring of the web of the operators of the Cooperative, but also the active signaling by organizations and associations.
